Collection: TOKYO EXPRESS

For the Tokyo Express collection we take you on an enriching journey through the depths of the Japanese Harajuku’s Kawaii culture and a memorizing contemporary reinterpretation of traditional ethnic designs.
 
This season’s collection is symbolic of an bold love affair, a cross-cultural concoction with fabric sourced from the heart of Japan. Centered around culture, self-expression, and risk-taking. The collection resonates a consistent funky luxurious street wear revived theme boasting a combination of manga prints, hand drawn koi fish prints, some modernized ethnical prints featuring Samurai warriors and geisha’s. Embroidery elaborately created with a variety of traditional and modern techniques .

This collection marks another print collaboration with Paris-based American artist, Susan Shup. Featured in numerous international publications and included in countless prestigious private and corporate collections, Shup is renowned for her large-scale ‘poetry paintings’, that embody the humorous and pop, lush and rock, mysterious and bittersweet.
 
Staying true to their eccentric and bold designs this season OTT has taken a fresh approach to their collection. By incorporating neon hues  with an infusion of bold prints, as well as exciting touches of patchwork mixing graffiti with traditional prints. The collection showcase a blend of traditional couture and materials, which translate into unique styles and modern fashion statements.
 
This collection successfully celebrates the bold ethnicity and magnificence of Japanese origins, whilst blending a mixture of contemporary cuts and fabrics to create the ideal cross- cultural expression. Inspired by Tokyo’s everyday life and styles. Particularly, Harajuku streets, hence the bold colors, oversized proportions, experimental layers, clashing prints, and tactile.
